Data on your device

Bookmarks, listening positions and imported audio are stored on your device. The optional sound mirror uses microphone amplitude locally. It does not save or upload microphone recordings. You can practise manually without granting microphone permission.

Shared practice sessions

When you choose a Sangha display name, the service creates a participant identifier and an authorization token. It stores a hash of that token, your display name, session titles and times, membership, presence and name-sharing choices. Your device stores the token securely. Hosts' display names appear with their sessions. Other participant names are shown only with their consent to current room members. These records provide accounts, shared playback, session management and abuse prevention.

Notifications and source websites

This release offers optional reminders scheduled on your device. Remote push delivery is disabled. Recordings streamed from original hosts and external links contact those hosts, which receive normal connection information such as IP address and apply their own privacy policies. The teaching catalog and bundled prayer recording can be used offline.

Security and retention

App-service connections use HTTPS. The service uses access-controlled storage and backups. Infrastructure may process IP addresses and request metadata for security and operation. Completed or cancelled session records are removed after 30 days. Inactive participant records not owning sessions are removed after 90 days. Accounts owning sessions remain until the sessions expire or the account is deleted. Restricted disaster-recovery backups may retain older records for up to three years.

Your choices

You can decline microphone and notification permissions, leave sessions, and choose whether other participants see your name. Use Delete Sangha account to remove active account data and hosted sessions, or request assistance by email. Local bookmarks and audio remain under your device's control.

Other uses

This release contains no advertising, purchases or behavioral analytics. We do not sell personal data or use it for advertising tracking. Service providers process data needed to host the service, deliver source media and maintain security. We may retain or disclose information where legally required. Changes to this policy will be published here with an updated effective date.
